A new state law is requiring bus drivers to do a little homework over the summer break. Drivers must pass a physical.
All school bus drivers in Alabama must comply with the new law by August 14th. A driver may not be allowed to drive a school bus transporting students unless he or she is physically qualified. Both administrators and drivers say the law is a good thing to ensure safety on the roads.
The results of the physical must be documented on forms by the state department of education, and filed with the school system's office.
