It will be sort of a museum highlighting the schools accomplishments in athletics according to this release:

The new Champions Plaza will provide recognition for the University of Alabama's athletic programs, as well as tiered seating for 600 adjacent to Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The plaza will consist of brick and precision concrete walls and will include commemorative engravings, which highlight each team's history including National and SEC Championships. In addition, there will be a coaches' recognition wall with plaques to honor coaches who have won National Championships. Interactive video displays will also allow visitors to learn more about the Crimson Tide's history and traditions within each sport, as well as members of National Championship teams. Around the wall, landscaping, seating, brick walls, and signage will be provided for visitors. A script "A" granite wall with a brushed steel logo will be constructed on axis with the entry to the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility, and a monument sign naming the plaza will be provided to identify the new plaza. Overall, the Project will complement the surrounding athletic buildings and provide a new gathering place for Alabama students, faculty, staff, and fans.

The plaza is a $2.8 million dollar project to be funded by the Crimson Tide Foundation.
