Who doesn't despise that middle seat on an airplane?! The airline industry finally gets that, so it's charging more for window or aisle seats in the front half of the plane. 

It's called preferred seating, and it will cost you almost $30 more each way. Passenger rights groups are complaining, but so far, those complaints have fallen on deaf ears.
