Hundreds turn out for the dedication of a shining beacon for Birmingham.
On Tuesday, the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children was dedicated.
Governor Robert Bentley, Mayor William Bell, as well as other city and county leaders were on hand for the dedication.
Mike Warren, President and CEO of Children's of Alabama says this facility is the one of the most family friendly hospitals in the state.
"One of the objectives was to make our facility more family-centered. By that, we wanted to have rooms big enough for mom and dad to be in that room to be part of the care team," said Warren.
In a special moment during the ceremony, the children of Children's Hospital helped Governor Bentley dedicate the new building, by giving the governor keys to the hospital.
