Breaking news from the ABC 33/40 newsroom. The Birmingham Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the Ensley arson investigation. Curtis Thornton, a Birmingham Police officer for the west precinct, was arrested in association with a fire at 1708 29th Street in Ensley. However, investigations of additional locations are still ongoing. Last week, the 27-year-old was arrested and charged for a rash of fires in Warrior.
