A Wedowee special Olympics student-athlete dies after running in a 100 meter rely event during the state Special Olympics in Troy. 20-year old Aaron Boyd, a student with the Helen Keller School, went into convulsions, and was transported to the hospital. That's where he was pronounced dead.
According to the school, a heart problem appears to be the cause of the death. A spokesperson revealed a recent physical examination of Boyd did not uncover any health issues
On the Helen Keller campus, Boyd is being described as positive, thoughtful and a superb athlete. The school says it will plant a tree in honor of Boyd
