Former Bishop Kelley pitcher Parker Frazier gave up just 2 runs on 8 hits over 7 complete innings while striking out 7 as part of a 3-2 win over the Arkansas Travelers.
Frazier, Colorado's eighth round pick from 2007, consistently produces quality starts for Double-A Tulsa. His 2.45 ERA through 7 starts ranks among the best in the Texas League.
However, what's just as consistent is Frazier giving up runs in the early innings. Tuesday night's win was no exception; surrendering a 2-out 2 RBI double to Adam Heether in the first inning.
The Drillers responded with a Nolan Arenado solo home run in the bottom half, his second of the year.
The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the fourth inning when Lars Davis planted a fly ball into the right field corner, scoring the final 2 runs of the game.
The series continues tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m.
