When Shea Seals resigned as head coach at Booker T. Washington high school last month, the University of Tulsa told Tulsa's Channel 8 the plan was for him to become a member of Danny Manning's staff.
Today, that became a reality.
Seals is returning to his alma mater as the Golden Hurricane's Director of Player Development. It's not a full-time assistant's position, but it is the same job Manning took at Kansas when he began his college coaching career.
Seals told Channel 8's Rick Pendergraft last month that this move was a dream come true.
"I began this journey in Tulsa and always wanted to help the place where I've come from," Seals said Wednesday through a TU press release. "So, being able to continue to be a part of the Golden Hurricane basketball program means a great deal to me. I bleed blue and gold. It's an honor to be back and be a part of this team."
Seals was head coach at Booker T. Washington for five seasons, leading the Hornets to back-to-back state championships in 2010 and 2011. Prior to that, he spent three seasons at his alma mater, McLain.
