A Birmingham school is getting high marks for staying healthy.
Hudson K-8 School has been named a HEAL Alabama school hero.
HEAL is an educational program in more than 20 schools.
It promotes healthy eating and living.
Program directors say Hudson had the most improvement out of all schools.
Christy Swaide of HEAL Alabama says, "We've been empowered to go in and teach children to get quality, daily physical activity and to learn lots of choices of how to have fun doing it and to make good food and beverage choices. And we're seeing incredible measurable outcomes."
HEAL handed over a check to Hudson K-8 School for $500 to go toward the upgrade of PE equipment.
