A Shelby county woman convicted of murder-for-hire, will spend the next ten years in federal prison. That is the maximum she could receive under statutory law.
Forty-four year old Kimberly McGuffie of Calera was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Abdul Kallon Wednesday afternoon in federal court in Birmingham.
McGuffie and her 64 year old mother, Barbara Patterson conspired to have someone kill McGuffie's ex-husband with a poison cocktail.
Patterson faces sentencing May 31, 2012.
