Suspect in Good Friday homicide arrested by Anniston Police

The Anniston Police Department has made an arrest in the Good Friday homicide that occurred at the Constantine Homes in southwest Anniston.  Kenmonte Jacobe Winsley of Anniston, has been charged with murder of 24 year old Dequirea Royal. 

Winsley was arrested Wednesday morning by being served with a warrant while incarcerated on charges unrelated to this incident.  Winsley is being held in the Calhoun County Jail on $75,000 bond on this charge.  He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 11 June 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Calhoun County District Court.

On the afternoon of Friday, 6 April 2012, APD officers and investigators responded to a shooting call at an apartment in Constantine Homes (316 Elm St.) in Anniston.  Suspects were no longer on scene when officers arrived.  The victim was the only person found in the apartment.  She had a fatal wound to her head.
