Southern Utah earned a 6-0 win over Oral Roberts to earn a split of a Friday doubleheader in Cedar City, Utah.
ORU (17-17 overall, 4-3 Summit League) won the opener 8-4 behind Jose Trevino, who went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple, three runs batted in and two runs scored. Jared Schlehuber and Brandon Healy also drove in a pair of runs for the Golden Eagles.
On the mound, Alex Gonzalez went three innings before being chased after allowing four runs on four hits. Joe Spring came on and pitched the remaining six innings, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out seven.
In the second game, Southern Utah (10-24, 4-3) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning and that was more than enough offense for Justin Neubauer, who held ORU to just one hit in a seven-inning complete game shutout.
ORU will look to win the series when the two teams play the finale Saturday afternoon.
