The search is still on for a man who managed to elude authorities all day Tuesday.
Jefferson County sheriff's deputies say the suspect ran from a routine traffic stop. Pinson Valley Elementary School was put on lockdown. A sheriff's spokesman says authorities have an idea who the man is.
"This is someone who has drug warrants, theft warrants," said Chief Deputy Randy Christian. "We've chased him before and know in the past he's been armed. We thought it was a possibility, so as a precaution, we locked down Pinson Valley Elementary School."
The sheriff's office says it believes the man called someone and got a ride out of the Pinson area.
