ABC 33/40 - Birmingham News, Weather, SportsManhunt continues along Jefferson-Blount County line

The search for a wanted man has now expanded to the Jefferson -Blount County line. Jefferson County Deputies are using K9 units and helicopters to search along Highway 75 for 34 year old Kevin Randall Campbell of Pinson.

Deputies had focused on a trailer house earlier Tuesday. It is believed that Campbell broke in and stole a four wheeler.

Deputies say the search began early Tuesday morning when Campbell ran during a routine traffic stop. He has evaded officials before armed but is not believed to have a weapon on him this time. But as a precaution, Pinson Valley Elementary went on lockdown.

Campbell is wanted for Theft of Property 1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Burglary 3rd Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree.
