Ketchup wins that one; an initial recipe was printed in America in 1727. Mustard, however, was not far behind.

On this day in 1758 that tangy, yellow condiment was advertised for the first time.

As to who first brought mustard to the United States, we can credit Benjamin Franklin. Franklin fell in love with the taste of mustard while on a visit to England.
