The YMCA of Greater Birmingham received a major gift Tuesday afternoon.
Red Diamond turned over the keys to its former Vanderbilt Road headquarters and distribution center to the "Y." The facility could be the YMCA's first location to serve the Norwood and North Birmingham neighborhoods.
The headquarters has been vacant since Red Diamond built a new campus in Moody in 2008.
The YMCA has 14 locations throughout Greater Birmingham and serves more than 80,000 people.
