
The Mercedes domino effect of new jobs continues to fall on Tuscaloosa.
Another suppplier for the automaker announced a 15-million dollar expansion today. ZF has been making rear and front axles for Mercedes for more than a decade. Now, the company will produce systems for the coming C-Class.
Governor Bentley and local leaders were on hand for the announcement Friday.
The expansion will create 85 new jobs at ZF.
Governor Bentley says the Mercedes-effect has a truly given the state the advantage in attracting new industry.
Construction on the expansion begins later this year with production of the C-Class axle starting in 20-14.
