New coffee store sizzles at local high school

Business is booming inside Gadsden High School, and students say their coffee shop, Clash's Corner, is the place to be.

The store has been open for more than a week. And before lunch time, students can purchase coffee and breakfast treats. Students, like Molly Arnett, in the school's marketing and retail program sell the items.

"I look over the items. I make sure everything is stocked. I make sure everyone is wearing what they are supposed to be wearing," Arnett says.

Marketing teacher Becky Gray says the store is a learning lab: a way to teach students real-life sales lessons to help them in the workplace.

"You have to have personality skills in which to sell, in which to accomplish your goals in life," Gray says. "I think this is a great training ground for that."

Parents help donate items for the store.
