Pedestrian killed in Blount County

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the death of a woman who was struck and killed while crossing the highway.

It happened in Remlap (Blount County) on Highway 75. Investigators say just before 6:00pm CT Wednesday, 68-year old Reba Harris was hit by a 2003 Chevy Envoy while attempting to cross the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was also injured in the incident and was transported to St. Vincent's East for treatment. The driver has since been released from the hospital.

No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
