We think of spring as a time of rebirth.
It's the perfect time for cities and communities to begin to replant what last April's tornadoes destroyed. The Arbor Day Foundation and the Alabama Forestry Commission plan to give away 30,000 trees.
Alabama First Lady Dianne Bentley was on hand for the announcement Monday in Tuscaloosa.
Communities receiving the trees initially include Cordova, Cullman, Fyffe, Glen Allen, Hanceville, Ider, Jasper, Lakeview, Oakman, Ohatchee, Pleasant Grove, Reform, Shiloh, Sipsey, Tuscaloosa and Vance. More will be added in the future.
You can pick up a tree seedling in the city of Tuscaloosa at the Cherry Shelter on February 25th beginning at 8a.m.
