Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's investigators are trying to piece together a large crime scene and figure out who is responsible for a shoot out that put six people in the hospital.  The shooting happened Friday night around 11:30 p.m. at Eddins Estates Apartments in Cottondale.

Sheriff Ted Sexton held a news conference Saturday afternoon to release the details of the shooting.  He said two men entered into an apartment where a birthday party was being held.  The two men reportedly showed their handguns and demanded money.  The suspects then opened fire on the party, shooting five people.  One of the 18-year-olds attending the party apparently was armed with a gun.  Sexton said he returned fire at the armed suspect.  The 23-year-old gunman was shot in the stomach.

The sheriff said the suspect was later observed being dropped off in the parking lot of DCH by a private vehicle.  He reportedly underwent emergency surgery at the hospital.  At last check he was being treated for a "serious gunshot injury."  His name has not been released.  However, we do know Donald Deshun Wynn, 23, was arrested.  He was taken into custody at a relative's house in Cottondale.  Wynn is charged with five counts of Robbery 1st Degree, two counts of Attempted Murder, one counted of Burglary 1st Degree, two counts of Assault 2nd degree and one count of Assault 1st degree.  Wynn was not injured during the robbery.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions, like whether the gunmen knew the party-goers.  Sheriff Sexton says this is a big investigations and a lot of information.  "It's a difficult investigation.  We have victims in the hospital, a number of witnesses that scattered throughout the apartment complex and I was on the scene with them last night and it was a large scene to preserve the evidence."  The sheriff said at the news conference Saturday afternoon, that he had not yet gotten a chance to talk to all of the victims.

The names of those victims are also not being released yet.  However, we do know that a 17-year old male was shot in the chest.  He was listed in critical condition.  Two 18-year old men were also listed in stable condition.  The 18-year old girl who was shot in the stomach is listed in critical condition.  Another victim has been released from the hospital already.  The 20-year old was shot in the leg.

More arrests could be coming, according to Sheriff Sexton.
