A new study is questioning the old belief that cholesterol-lowering drugs may not work, as well in women.
Researchers looked at data from 18 studies involving more than 140,000 people.
It included more than 40,000 were women.
The researchers found that in both men and women, statins significantly cut the risk of heart attack and death.
The results were published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
