
High heels could be to blame for some of that knee pain.
In a first of its kind study, Australian scientists have found that regularly wearing high heels can shorten fibres in your calf muscles, putting you at risk for injury and altering the way you walk.
Scientists also found that walking in heels mostly engaged muscles rather than tendons, especially the achilles tendon. In turn, leaving it weakened and vulnerable to injury.
