BIRMINGHAM - AL -

A local author is on her own crusade against bullying.

She's written this book called-- Why Aren't You My Friend"? The Story of Bullying, Diversity and Friendship.

Author, Eleanor Reynolds hopes the book will help children stop and think about their choices before they use verbal bullying or violent actions against others.

She says, too often today bullying leads to suicide and even homicide.

She wants children at an early age to realize they have the power to stand up to bullies.

Reynolds encourages children to follow what she calls the "STOP Program".

-She says, "STOP stands for -- stand up to bullies. Tell everyone about them. Openly share hurt hearts.  A lot of time we have these hurting issues that are going on--jealousy , unforgiveness, hurt we never discussed. And proof that love wins because in the end it really does."

You can hear more from Reynolds at her book reading, Saturday, January14th at South Roebuck Community Church, during the Community Mall Expo. at 11:00-2:00p.m.
