Jordan Clarkson scored 23 points, including six in the final two minutes as Tulsa pulled away to beat TCU 74-66 Saturday night in Fort Worth, Texas.
The game was tied at 66-66 when Clarkson hit the go-ahead jumper with 1:34 to play. He would add four free throws to seal the victory -- Tulsa's third in its last four games.
The Golden Hurricane (7-7) led by as many as 12 points in the second half before the Horned Frogs put together a 17-to-5 run, taking the lead on Garlon Green's dunk and one with 5:35 to play.
After Tulsa regained the lead, it was Green who again pulled TCU even, hitting all three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt with 1:56 to play.
But, the home team missed its last four shots and had to foul -- and Tulsa responded with a 6-for-6 effort at the charity stripe.
Clarkson was joined in double figure scoring by sophomore Kodi Maduka, who had 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. He also had three blocked shots.
TCU (8-5) was led by Hank Thorns' 16 points.
Tulsa evened its record at 7-and-7 to end 2011 and will begin 2012 by opening Conference USA play at Houston Wednesday night.
