From Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Hale:

"This week's suspects face very serious charges, and we urgently need to hear from you if you know where they are.

First, is 72-year-old George Vanzandt.  He's charged with possession of obscene matter of a child less than 17 years of age.  You might see him around Robinwood or Tarrant.  His last known address is along the 100-block of 1st Street in Robinwood.

Next, is 29-year-old Roderick Fowler.  He's charged with rape second degree and theft second degree.  We think he could be around North Birmingham.  His last known address is along the 2200-block of 30th Avenue North.

If you've seen them, call Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777.  And remember, it could mean justice for them and a cash reward for you.

With Crime Stoppers Most Wanted, I'm Sheriff Mike Hale."

In addition to telephone tips, encrypted tips can be submitted online by going to www.birminghamcrimestoppers.org and clicking on the "submit an online tip" link.  Also, you can text 7777, along with your tip, to the word CRIMES.

If you provide information to Crime Stoppers, detectives will never ask for your name, and they will never see your phone number.  Instead, you will be assigned a private code number.  If your tip is the first to lead to an arrest, you then use the code number to claim a cash reward.

Crime Stoppers cannot call its tipsters to testify in court.
