TU Running Back Coach To Join Memphis Staff - ABC 33/40 - Birmingham News, Weather, Sports

A report in a Memphis newspaper says University of Tulsa running backs coach Holman Wiggins is heading there to take the same job.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal said new Tigers head coach Justin Fuente had told them Wiggins would join the staff.

Wiggins and Fuente were on the same staff at Illinois State in 2006. Wiggins was in his first year at TU after spending five seasons at ISU.

Wiggins' hiring at Memphis is pending approval of the Tennessee State Board of Regents.

This season, Tulsa's running game was second only to league champion Southern Miss in Conference USA, averaging better than 204 yards per contest.
