Oral Roberts guard Kevi Luper had her best performance Monday in the Pan American Games, scoring 11 points in 21 minutes as Team USA routed Jamaica 87-41 in the seventh place game in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Luper averaged eight points and two rebounds per game in three appearances for the US women's team, which suffered two early defeats that put them out of medal contention.
Luper did not play in the opening loss to Argentina and scored just four points in the loss to Puerto Rico, but scored nine in a victory over Mexico.
The seventh place finish is the worst in Team USA's history. The Americans were the defending gold medallists and had never finished lower than third in 13 previous tournaments.
