Rucker Park in Harlem is considered by many the hallowed ground of streetball. And yesterday, Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant etched his name into the park's lore.
Durant scored 66 points -- two short of the Entertainers Basketball Classic record -- including 28 in the fourth quarter. One two-minute stretch of the fourth quarter can be seen on YouTube with Durant draining four consecutive three-pointers -- most from way beyond NBA range.
On Twitter, Durant (@KDTrey5) said "No lie, jus had one of the best times of my life at Rucker park..wow!". He called it an "unbelievable experience" and something he had wanted to do all of his life.
He joins greats who have played at the Harlem court, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant, just to name a few.
