Maggie Poteau returns to Birmingham as Anchor of "Good Morning Alabama" and Host of "Talk Of Alabama". She is thrilled to be back in the Magic City and back at ABC 33/40. Maggie anchored GMA and the Midday News for two years before leaving in March, 2006.
When she left Birmingham, she left the TV news industry too. Maggie served as a Sales Consultant with Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Knoxville, TN. It was also in Knoxville, TN that she worked as the Midday Anchor and Reporter for the local ABC Affiliate WATE-TV from 2002 to 2004.
Maggie grew up in Connecticut and landed her first television news position as a Reporter for the NBC Affiliate WWLP-TV in Springfield, Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Mass Communications. She is also a proud alumnus of the University Of Connecticut Women's Soccer program.
Originally from Haiti, Maggie came to the United States when she was just over a year old along with her mother, father and three siblings. At sixteen she and one of her sisters entered foster care for the final years of high school.
Maggie has a twenty two year old daughter Brittanny who graduated from Vanderbilt University and now resides in Phoenix Arizona. She also has an extremely spoiled 2-year old Maltipoo named Coco. Maggie says, "I never really followed college football but happy to cheer for Alabama AND Auburn."
