This Saturday, 5/28/11, Neighbors in Need will be changing gears a little bit and starting earlier in the day.  We will be working with Habitat for Humanity and Hands on Birmingham in North Smithfield.  The purpose of Saturday will be construction and repair instead of debris removal as we have done in previous weeks.

Details:
  • Volunteers will meet at 4800 Allen Street, Birmingham, AL 35207
  • Please arrive no later than 7:30AM - work will be done by Noon
  • Upon arrival, Hands On Birmingham waivers will need to be completed for each person.
  • Afterwards, each volunteer will follow under the guidance of a construction worker with Habitat for Humanity.
  • PLEASE CARPOOL IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
  • Each volunteer must bring their own snacks, water, and of course, comfortable attire for this type of work, but nothing specific is required.

We only have room for 100 volunteers this week, and you must register with the United Way before you meet us, so please CLICK HERE to go to Hands on Birmingham to register, then you will need to CLICK HERE to check availability for this project. If all of the slots are full but you still want to help, you can choose one of the other areas that Hands on Birmingham is helping, or you can try to go with us next week when we go to another area that needs help.

If you have worked with us on one of the previous jobs, feel free to wear your bright red Neighbors in Need t-shirt for this event!
