An early morning storm knocked down trees, telephone lines and power poles in Blount County. Most of the damage was between Highland Lake and Oneonta on County Road 27, County Road 29 and Highland Lake Dam Road.
According to local firefighters and the Blount County EMA, the worse damage took place at a home off of County Road 29. A tree fell onto the house of an elderly woman. She was not hurt and the tree did not penetrate the home.
