Hoover, AL - Mike Vaughn loves Alabama. His wife Dee loves Auburn, and their grandchildren sort of fall somewhere in between.
"Who's better," Dee looks at her grandson. "Auburn or Alabama?"
"Auburn," he replies.
But instead of going to the Iron Bowl or watching at home, the couple came to the mall for Black Friday.
"We made a promise to each other when we got married that on game day, we wouldn't watch the game," Mike explains, "we'd take the grand babies out and see Santa Claus and Christmas Shop."
"He keeps up with the game," Dee says of her husband. "All you have to do is go in the Alabama store or the Auburn store or ask anybody and everybody knows."
Luckily, there were televisions throughout the mall so all the fans could keep up with the score. We found several fans watching the game at the food court.
"Actually, I like both of the teams," says Shannon Williams, "but this year I'm pulling more towards Alabama."
"This is the first time I've been out here and noticed they had TV's out here for us to watch," Fredrick Borden tells us. "So that's a bug plus."
It truly was an unexpected bonus for David Denham. His family traveled from Baton Rouge just to shop at the Galleria.
"The prices are great. The inventory keeps changing. They don't just keep stuff. They constantly get new stuff in."
We're told the Black Friday frenzy slowed down a bit after the game started, but there were still plenty of people spending money and hoping for a win for their team.
