Gadsden, AL - An Alabama Supreme Court ruling did not derail plans for an electronic gaming facility in Etowah County.
A plot of land near near I-59 and Pleasant Valley Road has been chosen as the site for a 200-million dollar charitable bingo hall.
The developer - CBS Supply - issued the following statement to ABC 33/40 regarding the ruling:
"CBS Supply, LLC, the developer for the Etowah County Charity Bingo Resort project is confident that its proposed electronic bingo machines can and will satisfy not only the stringent Etowah County Technical Standards but also the Supreme Court's six-part test to be approved for operation. CBS's proposed electronic bingo machines are a one-of-a-kind design that incorporate more human interaction than any other electronic bingo machine. CBS is moving full-speed ahead to complete the testing and certification of its machines so it can request court approval and, upon receipt of such approval, open for business. CBS's operations will create jobs and economic development for a county that is in dire need of jobs and economic growth."
