Pinson, AL - An elderly Pinson couple is dead after a tragic accident Tuesday night. Jefferson county sheriff's deputies say the couple, C L and Betty Davison, was leaving the CVS parking lot on highway 75 when they cut off a pickup truck and was broadsided. It was believed the car they were in, a dark blue PT Cruiser, had continued on without stopping. The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital and a search for the PT Cruiser continued.
Early this morning a man collecting cans along highway 75 saw what he called something suspicious down the embankment on the side of highway 75 and called the sheriff's department. Deputies discovered the bodies of the Davisons inside their wrecked car. Sheriff's Department spokesman Randy Christian says it appears the car flipped over at least twice before landing on its roof 50 to 60 feet down and 70 feet from the road.
Family members say the couple, both 77 years old, had only been married for 3 years and did everything together. No arrangements for the couple have been made at this time.
