Mountain Brook, AL - A group known as "Friends of Mountain Brook Village" have a new way to demonstrate their concerns about the size and scale of a proposed development in the village.

At a news conference planned for Wednesday morning, they will unveil a model of the village and the proposed new Lane Parke project.

The model will remain on display at Barton-Clay Jewelers.

A final public hearing on the project is tentatively set for November 24th.

For us, the locals, the people who live in the area and access and use this shopping and eating and retail space, this will be such a nightmare!

No more being able to run into the post office or Western to get what you need and get out real fast.

The buildings would be big and ugly.....a hotel for crying out loud! Not one but TWO parking decks.  Walking would be a big hassle in the rain and you'd have no choice because you'd have to remove your car from a deck and go to another?  Stupid.  Any open parking spaces would be next to impossible to access,

For me personally, more than anything, the traffic nightmare this presents and bringing in so many outsiders is something I am a hundred percent against.

LEAVE THE VILLAGE ALONE!
