Coosa County, AL - A major break in a 14-year old cold case from Coosa County. Three men are in the county jail charged with murder and attempted murder in the so-called "Lay Dam Road" incident. In May 1995, fire departments answered a call to a hunting cabin off county road 55. They found three victims tied up and set on fire. They said they did not know the three men who attacked them. Two of the victims died of their injuries. Deputies have arrested L.C. Collins, Junior of Gadsden, Mickie Wayne Collins of Attalla and Navarre, Florida resident Charles Richard Tooley. Coosa County sheriff terry-wilson says it took the coperation of several agencies to bring this case to a close. At a news conference, he said, "People are sometimes reluctant to reach out, but they need to know they can trust law enforcement and I think it's made a difference in this case." Sheriff Wilson also said this is an ongoing investigation.
