Washington DC - Protests for and against health care reform plans took place on Capitol Hill on Thursday. Congressional members stopped by an anti-reform protest organized by conservatives on the Capitol steps.
Congressman Spencer Bachus opposes government run health care.
On Wednesday he told ABC 33/40 he expected a few Alabama residents to be a part of the efforts.
According to Bachus, "There are at least ten to twelve citizens from Birmingham in the area who are going to come up. And you tell that this is not an orchestrated thing."
On the other side nine pro-reform protesters were arrested in Senator Joseph Liberman's office on Thursday.
They say they will stay in jail until Senator Lieberman pledges to stop taking private insurance company contributions. Liberman says he will filibuster any bill that contains a public option.
