Homewood, Ala. - A vigil was held in downtown Homewood Tuesday evening as friends and family marked one year since a young mother disappeared.
As people wondered what really happened to Nadia Kersh, police said they were missing only one vital link from the public as they work to solve Kersh's disappearance.
Kersh has not been seen since she left work during a break at the Tria Market in the Soho development. Friends and police have feared the worst since searches in the weeks after Kersh's disappearence yielded only a small amount of clues.
Despite the slow progress in the case, detectives said someone in the community holds the information they need to quickly solve the case.
Authorities said someone has called the Homewood Police Tip Line with credible information about Kersh. The caller seemed to have valuable details about the disappearance. However, the caller has not provided a way for authorities to return the call, so police are urgently asking for that person to call back.
"We've got a lot of information, a lot of facts," said Jefferson County Lieutenant Bill Musgrove, who works with the anonymous Crime Stoppers program. "We don't like waiting any longer. With this being the anniversary of her coming up missing, help us out. Call back again. Let's get some questions answered, and I think we can go forward with it."
Homewood Police have a special tip line to handle calls. The number to the tip line is (205) 332-6262. Homewood detectives have specific questions they would like to ask anyone with knowledge of Kersh's final few days before her disappearance.
Callers can also reach Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777.
