According to the American Legion, the last peak in membership was right after the Gulf War. They say one reason for the decline is younger veterans prefer to socialize in cyberspace. And one website, communityofveterans.org, helps make virtual vfw's more appealing than ever. You can swap stories, check out the GI bill, find out about post traumatic stress disorder and you can even post your own videos and photos. Some local servicemen and servicewomen in their twenties say they would rather click a mouse than drive to the local VFW.
