Auburn University says it sent two free Iron Bowl tickets to every Alabama legislator. But one legislator who's been critical of Auburn says he never got his tickets to Saturday's game. State Representative Alvin Holmes, a Montgomery Democrat, said today he believes he was overlooked because of his criticism of the university.

Auburn spokesman Brian Keeter said that's not so because two tickets were mailed to Holmes for the game against the University of Alabama.

Holmes, affirmative action chairman for the Legislative Black Caucus, said he called Auburn President Jay Gogue yesterday to ask if he was overlooked because of his criticism of Auburn in 2005. Holmes was at the forefront that year when the Legislative Black Caucus urged black athletes to refuse to attend Auburn University unless the school rehired two black administrators fired in a reorganization of the athletic department.
