Hanceville & Fultondale, Ala. - *Video will be shown Tuesday night at 10:00 on ABC 33/40 News and again Wednesday morning during Good Morning Alabama.  The video will also be uploaded on this site Wednesday morning.*

In one case, a man went through the roof - literally - to take cash from a Cullman County gas station.  In the other case, a stolen debit card was used to rack up hundreds of dollars in purchases before the victim knew the card was gone.  Crime Stoppers is ready to pay cash if your tip leads to the arrest of suspects in either case.  Details are below.

Through the RoofSurveillance video from last month shows a man lowering himself through the roof of a Conoco gas station in Hanceville.  It was late at night, and the suspect was clearly following a plan.

"This particular burglary is a little unique in that the fellow plays like Spiderman, cuts a hole in the roof, and comes down the wall on top of the cabinets," Lieutenant Bill Musgrove said.  "He knew.  He had knowledge of the inside of that store before.  Whether he lives there or he did work there for them through a different company, that's what we're trying to determine."

Crime Stoppers also needs to determine the suspect's name - and his whereabouts.  If you recognize the man from the surveillance video attached to this article, detectives could pay you a cash reward for your information.

Fultondale/Gardendale Theft:  Detectives believe two women followed a familiar routine when a debit card was stolen from the manager of a Fultondale store.  One woman distracted the manager while the other went looking for money, according to police.  Detectives say the women got away with a debit card that was quietly lifted from the purse of the manager.

One of the two suspects is seen on surveillance video at a Gardendale gas station.  Between her purchases there, and other purchases made on the card within an hour of the theft, hundreds of dollars were illegally charged to the card.

"They go to your Wal-Mart, your gas stations, your drug stores, and make $50 or $60 purchases and leave," Detective Allen Rogers said.  "In and out, no suspicion."

The suspect's car is a green Ford Escort.  Crime Stoppers needs to hear from anyone who can identify the suspect.

"I need a name that goes with that picture," Rogers said.  "We've got a good shot of her.  We've got a good shot of her vehicle.  Somebody should be able to put this together."

If you can help in either case, you can reach Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777.  Also, encrypted tips can be sent online by going to www.birminghamcrimestoppers.org and clicking on the "submit an online tip" link.

When you provide information, detectives will assign you a private code number.  If your tip is the first to lead to an arrest, you use the code number to claim a cash reward.  You never give your name, and Crime Stoppers cannot call you to testify in court.

Crime Stoppers is a partnership between local law enforcement, the Birmingham Business Alliance and ABC 33/40.  Together, our goal is to make our community a safer place to live and work.
