New research suggests that a moderate amount of red wine may lower the risk of lung cancer in men.
That's what Kaiser Permanente researchers found in a study of more than 84-thousand men aged 45 to 69.
One glass of red wine per month was associated with a 2% reduction in lung cancer risk.
Surprisingly, the study showed red wine reduced the risk by 60% among smokers.
however, doctors say non-smokers who drink red wine had a lesser chance of lung cancer than smokers.

New physical activity guidelines for Americans are out.
They mostly affect children.
Health and Human Services now recommend double the amount of moderate exercise for children... at least 60 minutes each day.
Plus, muscle and bone strengthening exercises three days a week.
For adults, the usual... moderate intensity exercise 30 minutes a day... 5 days a week.
Older adults should exercise to improve balance.
