Cough and cold medicines on store shelves should not be given to some children.
The makers of the medicines now voluntarily say don't give the children's cough and cold products to those under age-4.
The companies will now add a warning label saying.. parents should not give young children antihistamines to make them sleepy.
Antihistamines are used to relieve allergies.
Government health officials have advised against the products because of possible life-threatening complications in children under age-2.

Alarming news about the antibiotic-resistant staph bacteria, the flu and children.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics the superbug, MRSA may be contributing to flu deaths among children.
Researchers reviewed Centers for Diseae Control and Prevent data on influenza-associated pediatric deaths during three flu seasons between the fall of 2004 and the spring of 2007.
They found that at the start of the study, just 2% of children who died of flu were infected with staph bacteria, but that number rose to 30% by the 2006-2007 flu season.
