Investigators in Tuscaloosa County confirm two people were killed in an overnight house fire. The fire broke out around 11 p.m. Thursday at 12211 Poole Road near Duncanville, about 8 miles south of Tuscaloosa. Firefighters from Duncanville and Tuscaloosa responded.
Most of the damage appeared to be to the rear of the house, which is where the two bodies were discovered. The victims were taken to the coroner's office, which has yet to release their identities. However, a young relative at the scene told ABC 33/40 the victims were his grandfather and his cousin.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department is now looking into the fire. Officials spent several hours at the home. At the moment, there is no known cause for the fire.
