Those same poor on the receiving end of Welfare, etc., back the democrats because they have to. They (in large part, not always) made poor life decisions that put them into a life of dependency upon the government.

Democrats love a dependent class; it translates to power. They fear anything that would genuinely help people to help themselves.

I grew up poor; very poor. But we earned what we had. I stayed in school, struggled working through 7 years of college, and guess what? I'm not poor anymore.

Someone asked me if I knew the difference between a liberal and a babbling idiot but he answered while I was still thinking if there was a difference. He said sometimes a babbling idiot shows signs of common sense. It seems liberals primary concern is to take money from those who earn it and give it to those that don't. (Communism?) They seem to think that the rich don't deserve it. If taxes are raised 10 percent across the board, the rich pay more which is fine with liberals. If taxes are cut the same 10 percent, the libs scream that's unfair because the rich are getting a larger tax cut. The rich pay a majority of the taxes now but libs would like for them to pay more without even thinking of how that would hurt the economy. The rich invest their money in a way that gives these same libs a job. Has a poor man ever given you a good job? We all have an opportunity to make the big bucks but we lack the will. It's easier to sit back and complain that the rich should shoulder all the burden so the lazy can loaf. I've known those that complained about Alabama most of their lives and were always bragging on Florida or Tenn. They could have left anytime but stayed on even after they retired. They just loved to gripe. They were true liberals. Mississippi had a lot of pull in Washington DC that enabled them to get the funds for their highway.

The Repiglicans have had power for the last 6 years nationally as well as for the last few years in Alabama, so why is it the liberals or socialists fault???? Could be because Alabama ranks near last in terms of taxes in the Country. Hey, you get what you pay for and that's the reason Alabama has NOTHING! Maybe the Repiglicans can give the wealthy another tax break and then the highway will get completed....NOT! Looks like another Rush Limptounge fan to me!

What's lame is your use of the word progressive. Why don't you say Liberal, or even Socialist?

It takes longer because Alabama enjoys being a backward state. I am hoping the younger generation will be more progressive. And Pastor Ray, don't bother to tell me to go live in another state. That is so lame.

Corridor X in Mississippi crosses the entire state and has been completed for years! Why has it taken Alabama so long to build half as much roadway?

It doesn't matter if they say it will to all traffic on Nov.14th Everybody is driving on it now anyway, and they will run you over in the morning to get on to Cherry Avenue!
