Two More Sections of Corridor X to Open
   posted 6:20 am Thu November 01, 2007 - Birmingham
Alabama transportation officials will open 26 more miles of Corridor X on November 14th and aim to complete Alabama's portion of the limited-access highway between Birmingham and Memphis, Tennessee, by 2010. The roadway is a 20-mile stretch between Industrial Parkway in Jasper and U.S. 78 in Graysville. A six-mile stretch from Graysville to Cherry Avenue in Forestdale is already open to local traffic, but will open to all traffic on November 14th.

Alabama's uncompleted portions of the highway will be a five-mile corridor leading to Interstate 65 in Birmingham and an interchange with I-65. Work is already under way to widen I-65 in preparation for the interchange.

ABC 33/40 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?State Transportation Director Joe McInnes said Alabama's portion will be finished by 2010. The estimated cost for all the construction in the state is $1.4 billion.

Once Corridor X is connected to I-65, it will become Interstate 22.

Left2Right, those that brag about our neighboring states are very much the same as those hollywood limousine libs years ago that said, "If George Bush is elected, I'll move to Canada!"

After the election, several groups offered to buy them the one way ticket. They're still here.

Those same poor on the receiving end of Welfare, etc., back the democrats because they have to. They (in large part, not always) made poor life decisions that put them into a life of dependency upon the government.

Democrats love a dependent class; it translates to power. They fear anything that would genuinely help people to help themselves.

I grew up poor; very poor. But we earned what we had. I stayed in school, struggled working through 7 years of college, and guess what? I'm not poor anymore.
