ABC 33/40 has learned that Birmingham Police Chief Annetta Nunn will leave her position. Chief Nunn met with Mayor Elect Larry Langford for a breakfast meeting today. The Chief will stay on for at least a year as a private contractor, where her primary goal will be to get the records program up and running. That will allow all police from area municipalities to communicate with one another.
Lanford made it clear this is Chief Nunn's decision, and he expects to name a new chief within 30 to 45 days.
