Birmingham -
Protecting the population against the swine flu may be easier than thought. New studies suggest only one shot of the vaccine may be needed to protect adults against the bug, instead of two.
Officials had feared two shots spaced a month apart were necessary because most of the population has little if any immunity to the novel strain.
Meanwhile, the Alabama Department of Public Health has announced two more swine flu deaths in the state. Health officials say a resident of Bullock County and a resident of Macon County have died, raising the total to seven deaths from the virus in Alabama.
