After the big win Saturday night, Alabama fans kept the celebration going.
Just think, the last time Alabama was ranked this high students there now were still in pre-school.
"Nobody gave us a chance at the first of the season so this speaks volumes," said fan Eric Kelso.
"We come out dominate the first half, second half we were beat up pretty good, but we did what we needed to do to stay hanging in the game," said Keith Molish.
It was the victory Bama fans had hoped, cheered and some even prayed for.
Sunday morning, fans began once again stocking up on t-shirts and caps. They were eager to show their school pride following Saturday's victory over number three Georgia.
"Feels good to be a bama fan right now," said Kelso.
Rewind to January 2007 when Saban arrived to take over the team as head coach. Some questioned the $32 million deal that made him then the highest paid NCAA coach in history. Now, most will tell you the money is worth it as long as Alabama wins.
"We want the winning way so we're going to pay to get it," said Molish. "You think about what he brings into the school as far as revenue goes and what he's making is just a small portion of that."
While he may never replace the legend Bear Bryant, these fans say Saban is certainly proving he is what they need right now.
"That's a thing of the past," said Molish. "We need to look at today. And Saban is today."
With Alabama now moving into the number two spot, of course many fans are hoping for a national championship. The last time Alabama had that title was 1992.
